Our librarian, Mrs. Brown, and clerk, Mrs. Morvant, welcome everyone to Saegert Elementary's beautiful library! We have a collection of 19,000 materials, 14 research and online catalog computers, class and projection area, and multiple places to relax and read a great book!
The mission of Saegert Elementary Library is to create skilled users of information/technology and encourage lifelong reading habits for both fun and learning. Classes come for scheduled TEKS-based lessons, library, technology and research skills and literature appreciation. Students may also visit with a pass throughout the day. Teachers can schedule extra class time on Fridays for research and other projects.
Our library holds two Scholastic Book Fairs a year to provide funds for various reading incentives, guest storytellers, and author visits. We also offer the Book It program from October to March, the Six Flags Reading Club during January and February, the Texas
Bluebonnet Club for 3rd-5th graders, and Read Across America Day in March. These
are awesome reading activities that we encourage student participation!!
